Hunters Creek Dr
Hunters Creek Dr is a street near Houston, Texas CBD, with an interesting history and diverse culture. Located in the city's Near Northwest side, it is one of the oldest streets in Houston, dating back to the late 1800s. It is named for early settler Henry Hunter who had homesteaded there when it was still predominantly prairie.
History
During the early 1800s, it was part of the vast territory claimed by Stephen F Austin for his colony of Mexican settlers. As more people moved into the region, settlers like Henry Hunter began to homestead in and around Hunters Creek Dr. The street was officially laid out in 1881, as Houston's population grew rapidly.
